WHERE DO ABRASION AND CORROSION OCCUR?
All industrial plants and equipment that handle bulk materials and/or fluids are prone to abrasion and corrosion. However, some parts are more sensitive than others, the following in particular: Pipelines, chutes, cyclones, screens, bunkers and silos, separators, hoppers, mixers for concrete and asphalt, screw conveyors, fans, restriction orifices and venturis.
HOW TO MINIMIZE ABRASION AND CORROSION?
Abrasion and corrosion can be minimized, though not prevented entirely. All that is required are technical and design modifications to plants and equipment. There are many types of abrasion and corrosion resistant materials that extend the lifetime of your plants and equipment. Rubber, plastics, abrasion resistant metals, sprayable and weldable materials, ceramics and cast basalt are typical examples.
We are happy to advice on the options and guarantee throughput capacity of modified plants and equipment. Ovenbouw Holland Group supplies and installs ceramics and cast basalt. For other materials, we work in partnerships with specialized companies.
