History

Ovenbouw Holland Group has its origins in Ovenbouw Holland BV, which was established in 1985 by two renowned construction companies with the intention of being a competitive maintenance partner in refractory construction for Tata Steel Europe (formerly Corus/Hoogovens IJmuiden) and to look for growth potential beyond the iron and steel industry. From the founding date on, the company’s philosophy based on integrated services, flexibility and safety awareness has proven successful.

From their IJmuiden office, which has remained the company’s headquarters since it was established in 1985 until the relocation in 2006, the Ovenbouw Holland Group has steadily grown to become a group of solid companies with a permanent staff of over 70 highly skilled, experienced employees. The relocation to a new building in Velsen-Noord on July 2nd, 2006 marked a new chapter in the company’s history.

With this move, all companies within the Ovenbouw Holland Group were brought under one roof.

The Ovenbouw Holland Group was acquired on July 20, 2020 by Lizmontagens Thermal Technologies S.A. www.lizmontagens.com based in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Ovenbouw Holland Group consists of Refractory Holding BV and its operational companies Ovenbouw IJmond BV, Ovenbouw Holland BV and Ovenbouw Modulair & Prefab Products BV. This acquisition allows Ovenbouw Holland Group to focus on the future, with the further expansion and professionalization of its activities being central.

With more than 40 locations worldwide, Lizmontagens is mainly active in the field of engineering, construction and maintenance of industrial furnaces and chimneys. With the acquisition of the Ovenbouw Holland Group, Lizmontagens wants to further expand and strengthen its position within the iron and steel market.
